GANDHIDHAM A delegation headed by Mr. Vinod Chavda - MP Kutch - Morbi consisting other members CA Mavjibhai Sorathia - Trustee KPT Mr. Dinesh Gupta -President of Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Mahesh Tirthani-Ex Hon. Secretary of Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Balwant Thacker and Mr. Tinubhai Gandhi - Managing Committee Members of Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce & Industry visited Central MOS Shipping Mr. Mansukh Mandavia on 28.11.2016 at New Delhi and represented assertively about outstanding land issues of Gandhidham township.
At the outset, Mr. Vinodbhai ChavdaMl' & KPT Trustee Mr. Mavjibhai Sorathia briefed about land issues of Gandhidham Township. Thereafter, Mr. Dinesh Gupta - President of Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce & Industry narrated in detail about massive hike from 2004 onwards in Transfer Fee & Ground Rent charges by KPT and-presented comparative scenario. He quoted examples (a) Rs. 4,000/- Transfer Fee charged before 2004 and Rs. 20 lacs post 2004 with referene to 200 sq.ft. residential leased plot (b) Rs. 6000 - Rs. 7000 Transfer fee charged before 2004 and Rs. 38-40 lacs post 2004 with reference to 400 sq.ft. residential leased plot. He also briefed about massive hike in transfer fee of leased commercial plots. He asserted that no where in the world such a massive hike is imposed on land rates. Mr. Balwant Thacker - Member of the Managing Committee drawn the attention of MOS and stated that KPT gets certified the charges from TAMP while in 1998-99, then Chairman of TAMP clearly stated in his written reply that TAMP has no jurisdiction over land matters of Gandhidham Township. Mr. Thacker also stated that under the context of wrong interpretation of market value of development charges mentioned in Lease Deed, this massive hike is imposed. Chamber's Ex Hon. Secretary- Mr. Mahesh Tirthani stated while referring the issues of Free hold that only 27 Transfer Deeds have been prepared by KPT out of 22000 lease holders. Further, the process of Conveyance Deed in this regard has become non -functional as the said land of GandhidhamAdipur township is,not on land revenue records of Gujarat Govt. Chamber representatives assertively presented about let KPT maintain land records till major part of conversion takes place. Mr. Tinu Gandhi Managing Committee member and leading timber merchant & Industrialist represented about imposition of new high rates of port charges by KPT on timber import operation and its adverse impact on the prospects of timber trade in India.
MOS Mr. Mandavia assured the delegation that shortly after detailed study stage wise meeting with KPT officials, the chamber and people's representatives will be conducted to resolve the land issues amicably.
Mr. Mavjibhai Sorathia - KPT Trustee suggested and requested to lay the statues of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and last royal ruler of Kutch Dist. Maharav Madansinghji in Kandla - Gandhidham complex. MOS Mr. Mandavia responded positive approach in this regard.
During this meeting, Mr. Vinod Chavda MP of Kutch and Mr. Mavjibhai Sorathia - Trustee KPT extended full support and cooperation while representing the issues as stated by Chamber's Hon. Secretary Mr. Murlidhar B. Jagani.
