Curtain goes up on eagerly awaited event INMARCO

The eagerly awaited International  Maritime Conference  & Exhibition, popularly known as INMARCO, was opened here by Shri Mansukh L Mandaviya, Honurable Minister of State for Shipping in the presence of distinguished audiences representing various stakeholders of the Maritime industry.
Chief Guest the honorable minister of state for shipping, Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the central and state governments which including development of inland waterways by upgrading infrastructure on 38 rivers, which is expected to give a boost  to economic development at the local level. The minister spoke of a traceable environmentally friendly waste management  system which would comply to international norms to attract more business to our ship breaking industry. He emphasized on the advantages of  development of export oriented  manufacturing hubs around ports to take advantage of the logistical proximity.
He further added that the present economic downturn has made the industry verve towards ship repairs rather than new acquisitions, Indian can play a big part as it has the advantage of excellent talent and  competitive labor cost. He concluded his address on very upbeat mood.
The event was marked by the inauguration of “Swatch Sagar” online Centralised Port Reception facility and the releasing of INMARCO-2018 Souvenir.
